Toddler in critical condition after being stabbed in head in Philadelphia

A woman in her 50s was also stabbed and is also in critical condition

A woman and a 2-year-old boy are being treated at area hospitals after the pair were reportedly stabbed on the street in West Philadelphia on Monday night.

According to NBC10, the incident occurred on the 700 block of North Preston Street. An exact time wasn't given. 

The child was stabbed in the head, and the woman, in her 50s, was stabbed in the left shoulder, investigators told NBC10. Both are listed in critical condition. The child is in the care of medical staff at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. 

NBC10 reports an arrest has been made and the weapon thought to be used in the incident has been recovered. 

The identity of the victims and suspect have not be made available at this time, nor has the relationship between the woman and child.
