Two men arrested after shooting outside Atlantic City casino

Two men are in police custody Sunday after another was shot outside an Atlantic City casino, police said.

Eugene Storm, 23, of Pennsylvania, and George Walker, 30, from New York, have been arrested in connection with the shooting of 25-year-old Xavier Smith, of New York, the Atlantic City Police Department announced.

The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. in the valet area of the Tropicana Hotel and Casino.

According to authorities, responding officers discovered Smith injured with a gunshot wound on Pacific Avenue and multiple shell casings at the south tower. Smith was rushed to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center where is was listed in serious but stable condition.

After reviewing surveillance video, investigators identified Storm and Walker with assistance from casino security. Storm was arrested a couple blocks away on Albion Place and Walker was apprehended when he returned to the crime scene.

Both were later charged with two counts of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, conspiracy and tampering with evidence. Storm faces an additional charge of possession of hollow-point ammunition.

Storm and Walker were sent to Atlantic County Justice Facility on $150,000 bail.

An investigation is ongoing.
