Human beings who style their hair in dreadlocks need a lot of wax, nimble fingers, and a degree of coiffure neglect.
It can be a nice look when done right.
For a stray Pittsburgh cat to get dreads, Lord only knows what it took to wind up looking like this. The poor animal showed up at Animal Rescue League Shelter & Wildlife Center suffering from "severe matting" and appearing a bit like a Star Wars character or an enormous tarantula.
The shelter shaved a full two pounds of fur off the cat, who was looking good with a fresh cut.
Fortunately, the cat will now be taken into the care of a distant relative of the original owner, who likely failed to hear meowing above Bob Marley's "Natty Dread."
