Philadelphia's Northwest Detective Division is seeking help from the public to locate a suspect in an aggravated assault that occurred in Glenwood late on Tuesday night, August 4.

Philadelphia police say a 26-year-old victim was driving north on Broad Street at Lehigh Avenue around 11:55 p.m. when an unknown black male in a dark SUV began beeping his horn at her. The woman reported that the suspect followed her as she drove to 16th and Clearfield streets.

At that point, the suspect exited his vehicle and began to strike the victim's vehicle with a baseball bat. When the woman exited the vehicle, the suspect attacked her with the bat, landing blows to her left arm, left hand and head, as seen in the surveillance video below.

The suspect later entered the passenger side of the SUV, which was being operated by an unknown female, with a third individual in the rear passenger side seat. The suspect then fled the scene and was last seen heading west on Clearfield Street from 16th Street.

The victim was transported to Temple University Hospital and treated for a laceration to her hand and contusions.

The suspect is described as a 40-year-old black man, bald, wearing an orange shirt and blue jean shorts. Anyone with information about this crime or the suspect is asked to contact the Northwest Detective Division at 215-685-3353/3354.
