Gruden was pumped to imitate Merrill.

Jon Gruden generally brings it when he comes back to Philly for a Monday Night Football broadcast. There was the time a couple years ago, when the Eagles were blowing out the Carolina Panthers, that the former Birds offensive coordinator made a Spider 2 Y Banana shake as a nod to Chip Kelly’s sports science initiatives.

And last night, with Merrill Reese being inducted into the Hall of Fame, Gruden decided to break out an impression of the longtime Eagles radio voice calling the famous 4th and 1 stand in 1995, when he was a member of the team’s coaching staff:

Honestly, not too bad. Here’s video of the real call:

Last night, the Eagles didn’t do much stopping of Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, who went an absurd 10-14 on third down. Kudos to Chucky for briefly recalling a better moment on the broadcast.
