WATCH: NASCAR commentator teases Dale Earnhardt Jr. about Eagles paint scheme

The NASCAR circuit is in Dallas Cowboys country this weekend, but the Philadelphia Eagles were still on the mind of driver and Washington Redskins fan Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Before Sunday's O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, race announcers couldn't help but push Earnhardt's buttons about news that he would be driving a car with an Eagles paint scheme later this season.

Fox commentator and former driver Michael Waltrip caught up with Earnhardt during his weekly Grid Walk, a light-hearted segment to snag last-minute interviews with racers.

Waltrip, who is known for cracking jokes and other silly hijinks, asked if Earnhardt still felt "sad" to drive a car with the Eagles' logo painted on it.

"I think the whole team is pretty sad about it. I don't know if we have any Eagles fans on the team. We are helping some teachers so there is a good spin on it. They talked me into it and twisted my arm," Earnhardt explained.

Waltrip responded with a comedy bit, offering Earnhardt a piece of Philadelphia "Cheesecake." Earnhardt earns points for knowing that Philly is known for cheesesteaks, but still refused to accept an Eagles hat.

Earnhardt will drive his Eagles-branded car on June 11 at Pocono Raceway.
