WATCH: Sock bandit sought in robberies at Northeast Philly Wawa

Twice this month, police said the same Wawa store on Knights Road in Northeast Philly, was robbed by the same individual

Philadelphia police are seeking the public's help to identify this man who wore socks on his hands in two robberies at the same Wawa convenience store this month in Northeast Philadelphia, police said.

Police are seeking a man in two robberies within five days at a Wawa convenience store in Northeast Philadelphia. 

Police gave the following description: white male, about 25-30 years old and standing between 5-foot-11 to 6-foot-1, and weighing about 185 lbs. The suspect is believed to be responsible for robbing the Wawa store at 10550 Knights Road, near Frankford Avenue, on June 8 and 13.

In both robberies, the man wore white socks on his hands, police said.

On June 8, at about 9:30 p.m., a man dressed in a gray hooded sweatshirt, black Nike pants and Nike sneakers entered the store with white socks on his hands, according to police.

He approached a 22-year-old female employee, put his sock-covered hands on her back and told her: "Give me the money and open the register," police said. 

The suspect then escorted the employee behind the counter where she opened the cash register and gave the male an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing.

The sock-handed bandit was back at the same Wawa on June 13 at 10:42 p.m., police said, when he brandished a knife at a 45-year-old male employee at the store and walked behind the register while demanding money. 

According to police, the suspect, who wore a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, black Nike pants and black Nike sneakers, and socks on his hands, took an undisclosed amount of money before he fled on foot, east on Knights Road toward Frankford Avenue.
