WATCH: Suspect robs cell phone store at gunpoint

Police are seeking the public's assistance identifying and locating a suspect wanted for a robbery in East Germantown.

Police are seeking the public's help in finding a suspect wanted for a robbery in East Germantown.

In surveillance video released by police Tuesday, an unknown armed male can be seen entering the Hi Com wireless store at 13 East Chelten Avenue on Saturday at 5:48 p.m.

The suspect approaches a 26-year-old male employee, pointing a gun and demanding cell phones and money. After the employee gives the suspect approximately 25 wireless phones and an unknown amount of money, the suspect flees through the front door.

He was last seen heading towards Germantown Avenue. No injuries were reported.


Police describe the suspect as a black male, 30 to 40 years old, 6 feet 4 inches tall, with a dark complexion and thin build. He was last seen wearing a black cloth covering his face, black hooded sweat jacket, black sweatpants and white sneakers and was armed with a black handgun.
