WATCH: SUV smashes into Center City clothing store, about $45,000 in merchandise taken

Suspects made off with thousands in stolen clothes and accessories Tuesday morning, police said.

A group of people took off with thousands of dollars in clothing from Boyds in Center City after smashing the storefront window with the backend of a car, and police have it all on video.

The Philadelphia Police Department released the footage Wednesday, though the incident happened Tuesday shortly before 5 a.m. Once the driver of a Toyota Rav4 broke into the store, a group of people along with people in a 2012 Mercedes Benz S350 came rushing out to grab articles of clothing.

The suspects took about $45,000 in clothes and accessories, Philly.com reported

Boyds, a high-end retail store, will remain open during normal business hours while police continue to investigate.


Police said that the SUV has "significant rear end damage." Anyone with any information is asked to call 215-686-3039.
