A video of two New Jersey 20-somethings with Down syndrome expressing their love through the exchange of a promise ring has been spreading smiles via social media shares.

The couple, 21-year-old Ashley Greenhalgh, of Cinnaminson, Burlington County, and her boyfriend of two years, who is only identified in the video as Danny, can be seen in the video surrounded by their loved ones in what is described as Ashley's joint graduation and birthday celebration.

The video was shared on Facebook by Ashley's sister, Courtney, with the following post:

Hi everyone, I’m looking to make this video go viral. It’s too precious not to share with the social media world! On Saturday, June 25th, my family held a luncheon with our closest relatives and friends to celebrate my sister, Ashley’s, 21st birthday and high school graduation. Among the crowd was my sister’s boyfriend, Danny.

Both Danny and Ashley were born with Down Syndrome; not only do they both share an unconditional love for one another, they show a genuine appreciation for life on a daily basis. Danny and my sister have been dating for two years and couldn’t be more perfect for each other. They both have each other’s best interests at heart. Danny and Ashley talk about getting married in the future; while they know that the timing isn’t right just yet, Danny wanted to go out of his way to let my sister know that he will always be there for her and that he only has eyes for her. Danny saved up his own money from his job to get my sister a beautiful, diamond promise ring. The presentation of the ring takes this thoughtful gift to a whole new level. Watch the video to see…

The video goes on to show Ashley sitting at a table in front of a trio of wrapped gifts from Danny, the last of which is suspiciously shaped like a ring box, as Danny stands patiently at her side while she opens them.

When she gets to the last one, which is the ring, she exclaims through happy cheers, "This is getting good," – and it does.

Danny then drops to his knee and puts the ring on Ashley's finger as the onlookers cheer.
