A West Philadelphia woman who was shot eight times by a neighbor in March died of issues related to her injuries, her family said.

Mary Pitts-Devine, 47, was announced dead Thursday on a GoFundMe crowdfunding site created by her loved ones to help pay for medical costs related to her recovery, and now funeral expenses.

According to a 6ABC report of the March incident, the shooter, Steven Outlaw, lived in the same apartment building as Pitts-Devine at 45th and Spruce streets and the two had a history of tension.

Police told 6abc that Outlaw had also suffered mental illness and had accused Pitts-Devine, a LaSalle University graduate, entrepreneur and social worker, of spying on him.

Following the shooting spree, Outlaw allegedly shot himself to death.
