Drinking beer's never felt so philanthropic.
In support of ActionAIDS, Yards Brewing Company is putting out an "Action IPA," to be served at participating restaurants in connection with the HIV/AIDS service organization's annual Dining Out for Life event, in which more than 200 restaurants donate 33 percent of meal proceeds to the local branch of ActionAIDS. The event happens on April 14 this year, but restaurants will be serving the Yards brew all month long. How much of the beer's proceeds are given to ActionAIDS is at the discretion of restaurants, though Yards is suggesting restaurants donate 50 percent of the draft price.

Action IPA is a session India pale ale brewed with Centennial, Cascade and Simcoe hops. In flavor, you'll notice notes of grapefruit. The brew is light in color and contains a 4.5 percent alcohol by volume content.
Dining Out for Life was founded in Philadelphia in 1991 and has since spread to cities across the country. Nationally, it raises an average of $4 million each year, put toward prevention and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS.
