17-year-old dead, 20-year-old injured in shooting outside Cherry Hill motel

Police said the shooting took place following a fight at a party in one of the motel rooms

A shooting in a Cherry Hill motel parking lot has left a 17-year-old boy dead and a 20-year-old man injured, according to the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

The incident occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m. Sunday outside the Inn of the Dove, 725 Cuthbert Boulevard.

Cherry Hill police said the two males were inside a vehicle at the time of the shooting.

The 17-year-old Jadyre Gordon, of Camden, was pronounced dead at Cooper University Hospital. The second victim, an unidentified 20-year-old Willingboro man, was treated at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and later released.

The shooting took place following a fight at a party in one of the motel’s rooms, police said.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing and police are asking for tips from the public.
