For the second year, Bimbo Bakeries (which makes a frosted creme toast, among other foods) will host the Global Energy 3K and 10K race. Bimbo is the Philadelphia Union’s jersey and team apparel sponsor, so you may already recognize the name.
The event will take place in 37 cities, across 22 countries, on Sept. 25.
In Philly, both the 3K and 10K will start at Penn's Landing. Competitive runners can compete in the 10K race, while those looking for a fun run or group walk can enter the 3K. Registration is currently open for both events.
Besides a scenic running route, race day will feature music, a cooldown recovery zone, snacks to re-fuel and games.
Check-in on Sept. 25 begins at 6:30 a.m., with the 10K taking off at 7:30 a.m. and the 3K departing at 7:45 a.m.
