Blood type could correlate with poor cognitive health

Those with Type AB blood are more prone to cognitive health problems

Researchers at the University of Vermont found in a large-scale study that people with the less common AB blood type have a very high risk of cognitive impairment, according to a Huffington Post report.

The study looked at 30,000 adults over the age of 45. Those struggling with cognitive health, the study said, are 82 percent more likely to have type AB blood than Type A, B or O.

People with Type AB blood — along with Type A and B — are also at a higher risk for heart disease and a shorter lifespan.
