Restaurant El Rey will throw another Cinco de Mayo block party this year. On Thursday, May 5 the 2000-2100 block of Ranstead Street will be closed to celebrate the holiday.
From noon to 4 p.m. the block party will be a family-friendly event with activities and a special menu for kids. A mariachi band will play until 6 p.m., then the music will change to DJ entertainment until the event ends at 10.
Mexican street fare including tacos, quesadillas, corn on the cob and churros will be available for purchase, alongside select beers, margaritas and Mexican sodas.
