Follow the yellow brick road to the Emerald City during a special weekend at Delaware Children's Museum in Wilmington. For one weekend, the DCM will preview Delaware Children's Theatre's upcoming production, "Welcome Back to Oz: Dorothy Meets the Patchwork Girl," Feb. 20 and Feb. 21.

Before a special performance of songs from this new musical, Dorothy, Scarecrow and other beloved characters will have a special meet-and-greet with the families in attendance. The museum is open until 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and is located approximately 45 minutes from Center City by car.

"Welcome Back to Oz" is a new stage adaptation of Frank L. Baum's "The Patchwork Girl of Oz," the seventh of his novels set in the magical land. The story follows Dorothy and friends as they return to Oz to help Glinda fight the final Wicked Witch, meeting Ojo the munchkin and her life-size rag doll along the way.

The show will run at the Delaware Children's Theatre on Saturday, March 7 through Sunday, March 29 ($13-15). The musical was written by Emmy winner Donna Marie Swajeski with music by Chris Orazi. Swajeski's mother, Donna, is the founder of the Delaware Children's Theatre.
