Presenting the best in home decor and renovations to the consuming public, the show houses hundreds of exhibitors in gardening, interior design, architecture and more.

The  Philadelphia Home Show is a huge two-weekend design event running Jan. 17-19 and 23-25. Presenting the best in home decor and renovations to the consuming public, the show houses hundreds of exhibitors in gardening, landscaping, remodeling, interior design, architecture and more.

The show also will play host to celebrity designers and renovators. James Young of the DIY channel's "I Hate My Kitchen," Dr. Brent Ridge and Josh Kilmer-Purcell of the Cooking Channel's "The Fabulous Beekman Boys" and Jeff Devlin of  HGTV's "Spice Up My Kitchen" will all be in attendance. Do-it-yourself experts Beth Allen, Janet M. Taylor and Denise Sabia also will be on hand to discuss organization and outdoor spaces.

In addition to shopping for housewares and learning new renovation techniques, attendees can check out two big contests at the show. Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia presents its annual Ultimate Upcycle Challenge, where participants must create something new from something old. This year's challenge theme is "Let It Grow;" participants must use items they've purchased at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore and create a planter. The entries will be on view at the show, and the winner will be chosen through in-show and Facebook voting. Afterward, the planters will be auctioned off for Habitat for Humanity.

The 2015 Designer Challenge has five local designers creating amazing tabletop installations - called tablescapes - for this year's theme, "Serving Up Style." K Gallery Art & Design, J&L Designs, At Home Modern, Concept 2 Design Interiors and The Painted Home have all created installations for this inaugural challenge.

Monday, Jan. 19, is Hero Day at the Philadelphia Home Show. Members of the military, firefighters, teachers and police officers can all attend the show for free. Selfie stations will be available, and local breweries will provide beer samples during special happy hours throughout the show.
