Rick Santorum, Charles Ramsey joining CNN as contributors

Rick Santorum, former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania and also-ran in the last two Republican presidential primaries, will be joining CNN as a contributor to the news network.

Former Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey will do the same, according to Politico. CNN announced the additions Tuesday morning.

The news comes after Santorum teased a "big announcement" on Twitter earlier Tuesday. Santorum has already appeared on several CNN shows as a surrogate for President-elect Donald Trump.

Ramsey has taken on several roles since retiring as police commissioner at the beginning of 2016. He landed a consulting gig with the city of Wilmington, Delaware, and was named a visiting fellow for Drexel University's Department of Criminology and Justice Studies.

Santorum and Ramsey join former Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter as CNN contributors. Nutter was added to the network's team of commentators in February 2016.
