Runners don festive attire for the annual race.

For those who want to experience a half marathon but don't necessarily want to run 13.1 miles, the 2016 Love Run Philadelphia Half Marathon offers a solution. A relay option has been introduced to the annual race taking place Sunday, April 10.

Relays will compete in teams of three. Each leg will be between three and five miles with one chip exchange at Eakins Oval and the other at Strawberry Mansion Bridge. Shuttles will be provided to take runners to and from the chip exchanges.

Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be given to men’s, women’s and co-ed teams. Be within the first 500 teams to sign up to secure a relay spot. Also, participants must be 13 and older to compete.

Runners can still register here to compete individually. In previous years, the race has sold out to 10,000 runners, so whether running in a relay or separately participants should register early.
