Lynne Twaddle was arrested for allegedly selling heroin from her Main Line residence.

A 61-year-old Main Line woman is facing charges for allegedly selling heroin from her Tredyffrin Township residence.

Lynne C. Twaddle, of the 800 block of Pugh Road, was arrested Tuesday for allegedly selling 250 baggies of heroin to undercover police. Police said they purchased heroin four times from Twaddle at her home during a four-month investigation.

Police said they recovered additional 80 heroin bags and a pistol when arresting Twaddle.

Twaddle was charged with Possession with the Intent to Deliver Heroin, Criminal Use of a Communications Facility, Dealing in Proceeds of Unlawful Activity — all felonies — and related misdemeanor drug charges.

Twaddle is being held at the Chester County Prison in lieu of posting $50,000 cash bail.

Communities across Southeastern Pennsylvania and South Jersey are trying to mitigate heroin use, which has skyrocketed in recent years. Many opiate addicts turn to heroin as a cheaper, more potent alternative to prescription painkillers.

"Concern over the impact of opiate drugs on the Main Line has prompted proactive police investigations such as this one," Detective Sergeant Todd J. Bereda said in a statement. "We have gone to great lengths to attempt to identify those engaging in distributing pills and heroin and have a zero tolerance approach in this line of enforcement. The most important thing to do is to demystify this drug and those that it has touched."

Twaddle, who has faced past drug charges, has a preliminary hearing set for July 31.
