Meetings are set for Dec. 8 and 9 to discuss future development plans at The Navy Yard, the Passyunk Post reports.

There has been chatter for some time now about potentially developing multi-family residential units and amenities targeting young professionals within The Navy Yard's unused acres.

According to Curbed, about 12,000 employees are currently based in The Navy Yard, including those of Urban Outfitters and Marc Vetri's restaurant Lo Spiedo.

It's been projected that 30,000 employees will eventually be based there, Curbed reports, and there’s also been talk about an extension of the Broad Street Line to reach the area.

The Dec. 8 and 9 information sessions are scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Philadelphia Sheet Metal Workers Hall located at 1301 S. Columbus Blvd.
