Earlier this week, Doug Pederson was asked who the starting left guard would be heading into training camp, and he declined to name one.
"I'm not going to get into roster positions right now, said Pederson. "It's still too early in camp."
When one parent doesn't give you an answer, you simply ask another one. On Wednesday, Frank Reich was asked the same question, and he left little doubt it would be Isaac Seumalo.
"Isaac's the starter, and then it's just competition from there," said Reich. "That's the great thing about training camp and this business. It's so stinking competitive."
Reich was then asked what Seumalo brings to the table.
"Very smart, understands what he's being coached, understands fronts, understands defensive schemes, what to anticipate, very athletic, tough-minded player."
So there you have it. Seumalo is the starting LG, unless someone takes it away from him.
