The Philadelphia skyline.

What exactly makes a city sexy? Is it the local talent, a raging nightlife, an inviting climate or an atmosphere of svelte decor and sultry surroundings?

Playboy Magazine sought to answer these questions by conducting a pair of exclusive SurveyMonkey polls that tapped into the lifestyle of the general populations in 25 American cities. They also teamed up with San Francisco-based personal finance firm Nerd Wallet to analyze the density of local attractions per 1,000 residents.

Philadelphia landed in the middle of the pack at 12, and while various explanations were given for cities across the list, out minimal blurb revealed a fascinating tidbit gleaned from the survey.

Sometimes less is more: In Trojan’s survey of 10 top markets, Philly ranked lowest in sexual frequency (99 times per year) and highest in sexual satisfaction (82 percent).

Philadelphians are either too busy for pleasure or they know that not overindulging helps them make the most out of a great thing. Given that a recent health data study ranked Philly fourth worst for sexually transmitted diseases, moderation may be for the best, anyway. Ninety-nine is enough to create problems.

Other interesting findings from the Playboy survey? New York City has a penchant for kink, Los Angeles is a hotbed of infidelity, Miami loves company ink, and Phoenix does the deed at a brisk pace.
