Police say incident stemmed from argument over employee cleaning tables too close to customer

Philadelphia police are investigating after a customer at Church's Chicken in North Philadelphia shot an employee following a disagreement inside the restaurant.

According to authorities, the shooting took place 5:25 p.m. at the restaurant located at 3600 North Broad Street, 6 ABC reports.

Investigators say an employee, who has not been identified, was cleaning tables when a customer complained that he was working too close to him. The customer briefly left the store, returned with a gun and opened fire, striking the employee's brother – who also works at Church's Chicken – once in the chest. The suspect then fled the scene.

The victim was transported to Temple University Hospital, where his condition was not immediately known.

No arrests have been made in the shooting. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call Philadelphia police at 215-686-3060.
