Police identify woman found nude, dead on East Kensington sidewalk

The body of a woman who was found dead and stripped nude on an East Kensington sidewalk on Saturday night has been identified.

According to police, the body of Rickie Morgan, 35, of the 2900 block of Kensington Avenue, was found about 11:20 p.m. on the 2400 block of Jasper Street.

Morgan's body, police said, was discovered after officers in the city's 26th police district responded to a radio call for a report of a person screaming on that block.

Officers found Morgan on the sidewalk, naked and covered in blood, police said.

According to law enforcement officials, she was suffering from what appeared to be blunt force trauma to her face and torso.

Medical staff responding to the call pronounced Morgan dead at 11:22 p.m, according to police.

Officials said police believe the woman was assaulted at a location in the rear of the 1900 block of East Cumberland Street before she was found on Jasper Street.

This investigation is ongoing, police said.
