Joel Embiid and Claude Giroux are back.

Winter is coming, and with it, basketball and hockey season are on the way. The Eagles have more than held the attention of the Delaware Valley through their first month of play and will continue to do so on Sundays.

Starting this Friday, the Flyers and Sixers will begin to compete for Philadelphia’s attention Monday through Saturday. And so as this week gets underway, we ask a simple question: Which team are you more excited to watch this season?

For the Sixers, there is a new energy around the team thanks to the long-term optimism provided by new faces Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, and Dario Saric. Simmons’ injury certainly tempers some of that optimism for 2016-17, but there is a chance that the top overall pick is back on the floor by the second half of the season. In Embiid and Simmons, the Sixers have the potential for legitimate NBA star power. They have the type of (still unproven) talent that pushes the team into May every season.

The Sixers are almost assuredly going to win less than the 30 games this year, though. The Flyers, on the other hand, project to be in the thick of another playoff race in the Eastern Conference.

The Orange and Black eked into the playoffs last season in Dave Hakstol’s first year as head coach, and they figure to be more or less again in that same position this season. The Orange and Black certainly have their share young guns, too, as Ivan Provorov and Travis Konecny will join Shayne Gostisbehere to give fans a glimpse at the Flyers’ future.

Heck, maybe you’re excited for both of them like me. But please, for the sake of this poll, pick one:
