Shopping in Philadelphia this holiday season just got a little bit easier with the announcement that free and discounted parking will be available throughout the city.

On Wednesday, the Philadelphia Parking Authority unveiled parking specials that motorists can enjoy between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day.

The biggest offer from the PPA is that beginning on Nov. 26, all metered parking will be free on Saturdays after 11 a.m.

The agency is also offering discounted rates at six parking garages from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekends. Parking at the following locations will be $8:

• AutoPark at Independence Mall (located at Fifth and Market streets)
• AutoPark at Olde City (Second and Sansom streets)
• Parkade on 8th (Eighth and Filbert streets)
• AutoPark at Jefferson (10th and Ludlow streets)
• AutoPark at Gallery Mall (10th and Filbert streets)
• Family Courthouse Garage (15th and Arch streets)

The PPA reminds motorists that time limits for parking on residential blocks and other regulations will still be enforced.
