Sam Hinkie, 'Process' looking pretty, puts Main Line mansion up for sale

If Sam Hinkie were a politician, he'd be hailed for achieving a record turnaround in his approval rating, all the more so because it was by way of resignation and the healing effects of time.

Much of the credit should go to Joel Embiid and the optimism surrounding Ben Simmons, but the 2016-17 Sixers are starting to look like the team Hinkie's "process" was meant to build after languishing through three seasons with a combined 47-195 record.

Hinkie will now roll up his sleeves, take a deep breath and get the hell out of the Philadelphia area, secure in his knowledge of a job half well done.

The former Sixers general manager has placed his Bryn Mawr mansion on the market for $3.1 million, according to Realtor.com, and it is a sight to behold.

Former home of ex-Sixers General Manager Sam Hinkie, who purchased it in 2014 for $2,660,000.

Located in a private cul-de-sac, the 19th-century stone colonial overlooks 25 acres of the Harriton Farm Preservation and received the prestigious Lower Merion Preservation Award in 2005 after renowned architect R.D. Wesley gave it a makeover.

It may be that Hinkie composed his infamous 13-page resignation letter in the mansion's custom library before proceeding to his personal bar. That is pure speculation, much like what some hopeless Sixers fans felt Hinkie was doing with their team for a while.

The Hinkie residence has five bathrooms, five bedrooms and 8,453-square-feet of "ultra private property," as the listing puts it.

We already know where the reportedly bearded Hinkie will be spending his time: Silicon Valley. In the spirit of innovation, he will ponder why we don't watch basketball games from back to front and train his mind for an eventual return to the front office of an NBA team ready to reboot.
