It's been almost two months since SEPTA announced the loss of its entire Silverliner V fleet that reduced capacity by a third and forced commuters to find other options, and the public transportation authority is still looking for remedies.

Starting Tuesday, a modified schedule will go into effect for the Media/Elwyn, Lansdale/Doylestown, Manayunk/Norristown, Paoli/Thorndale, Trenton, Warminster, West Trenton and Wilmington/Newark lines.

The new changes, announced Friday, can be found here

SEPTA also announced that it would be it begin a Weekday Supplemental Express Bus service Tuesday from some rail stations between 6:30-8:30 a.m. and from 4-6 p.m. That schedule can be found here.

The cars were pulled in early July because of a structural defect in their suspension systems. Officials discovered cracks on the welds that stabilized its equalizer bars.

On Thursday, SEPTA General Manager Jeff Knueppel said that four of the cars were repaired and functioning while the rest should be back in service by the middle of November.

"This was a very unfortunate episode in SEPTA's life," said Pasquale T. "Pat" Deon Sr., SEPTA's board chairman."We regret the inconvenience, but safety is of the utmost importance to SEPTA."
