South Philly man campaigning to help Peanut Chews' marketing

He thinks efforts to promote the candy are bad, and he wants to help

Do you want to help make a man's dream come true?

Sam Weinrott, who runs a novelty T-shirt company called Pirate Printing and is an administrator for a large South Philadelphia Facebook group called "South Silly," really likes Peanut Chews — so much so that he wants to work for the candy company that makes them.

More specifically, he's been campaigning to get Just Born — which manufactures the Philly-born candy made of peanuts, molasses and chocolate — to let him run the @PeanutChews Twitter account and help with marketing the treat.

How's he doing this? By dishing out some "Mad Men"-quality ad copy (with lots of Pokémon GO references):

Oh, and he's also been offering up some critique of Peanut Chews' current marketing efforts:

Like any attempt at a viral internet campaign, Weinrott has been using a hashtag: #LetSamHelp. Some have caught on:

So far, it doesn't look like @PeanutChews or Just Born have acknowledged his efforts. But Weinrott appears to be soldiering on anyway:
