WATCH: Top Flyers prospects Ivan Provorov and Travis Sanheim fight each other in juniors

While the NHL’s attention Sunday night was focused squarely on John Scott, real junior hockey was being played in Western Canada. And as fate would have it, Pierre McGuire found the latest bit of minutiae that he can drop the next time that the Philadelphia Flyers are on national television.

The Flyers’ two best defensive prospects, wait for it… THREW DOWN! Can you believe that, Doc and Edzo? Actually, it was more of a wrestling match (via the very GIF-friendly Sons of Penn, a very good Philly sports site):

In case you were wondering or didn’t read the title of this post, that is the Brandon Wheat Kings’ Ivan Provorov and the Calgary Hitmen’s Travis Sanheim rolling around on the ice there.

What started all of the fisticuffs? Actually, it was a punishing open-ice hit by Provorov. Forget about all of this talk about puck moving, the Broad Street Bullies are back!

Calgary doubled up Brandon, 6-3. Sanheim and Provorov, who each recorded an assist, were each given two-minute roughing penalties as well as 10-minute misconducts that ended their nights.

And sooner or later, they both should be on the same blue line in Philly.
