Pennsylvania and New Jersey share the same favorite holiday movie

Finding Pennsylvanians' favorite holiday movie is easy – just go through the seven levels of the Candy Cane forest, through the sea of swirly twirly gum drops and through the Lincoln Tunnel.

It turns out Pennsylvanians just can't get enough of the 2003 hit "Elf," starring Will Ferrell, this time of year.

CableTV.com, a website that helps users find cable providers, put together a list last week of each state's most popular holiday movie by looking at top-rated holiday movies as ranked by American Movie Classics viewers while combining state-by-state data from Google Trends.

"Elf," the comedy about a grown man raised as an elf in the North Pole who departs to New York City to find out more about himself, was ranked the most popular in a handful of states across the country, including New Jersey.

Two of Pennsylvania's neighboring states sided with classics – "Miracle on 34th Street" was Delaware's top pick while "It's a Wonderful Life" dominated TV sets in New York.

No matter what your personal choice may be, it is about that time to kick it in front of a fireplace and TV with a warm plate of spaghetti and maple syrup in hand.
