Bar crawl to visit 'every beer garden in Philadelphia'

Prepare to have your tolerance tested.

A Facebook event, scheduled for May 27, plans to visit "every beer garden in Philadelphia." (The full title, playing on the title card from the hit show "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," is "The Gang Goes to Every Beer Garden in Philadelphia.")

The event's description is scant on details, only reading, "Save the date, we're doing something stupid again!!!" It's already got more than 1,000 people interested in attending.

To understand the scope of such an endeavor, let's just look at the sheer numbers. Using a handy map from Philly.com, if you're only counting the permanent and temporary beer gardens in and around Center City Philly, that means visiting about 96 beer gardens in a day, according to my rough count.

Considering the event is only scheduled for three hours between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., that would mean visiting 32 outdoor drinking venues an hour. I don't feel I have to explain why, if you were to drink at least one beer at each location, that seems not only implausible but also incredibly dangerous.

We'll assume that the event doesn't actually mean literally every beer garden in Philadelphia; maybe it only counts the ones directly in Center City, or some variation of that.

We've reached out to the event organizer on Facebook for more details, and will update this post accordingly. In the meantime, here are some outdoor drinking-themed "It's Always Sunny" to hold you over.
