Celebrate Thai New Year with authentic cuisine and beer pairing

Coconut-infused Guinness is for dessert

Chef Alex Boonphaya will host two prix-fixe dinners celebrating Thai New Year at two Circle Thai locations. On April 13, Thai Circles on South Street will serve a four-course menu of traditional Thai dishes paired with four beers. The following night the Thai Circles location in Northern Liberties will serve the New Year's menu.

The beers were selected by food and drink journalists Tara Nurin and Brian Freedman for the event.

Here's what attendees can expect:

• Mixed platter of fish cakes, mussels and chicken lemon grass paired with Tröegs Dreamweaver Wheat

• Tom Sabb beef and crispy bread paired with Founders Centennial IPA

• Grilled John Dory fish with choo chee curry lemon leaf sauce paired with Ballast Point Even Keel IPA

• Sticky rice custard with coconut ice cream paired with coconut-infused Guinness
