Doug Pederson keeps on winning

After the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl win early in February, this NFL offseason has decidedly belonged to Doug Pederson.

Pederson had a day named after him in Moorestown, NJ, where he currently resides, called "Doug Pederson Day." Then he strutted around in Indianapolis at the NFL Combine decked out in Super Bowl LII gear for all his peers to see. Then he fired a strike when he was asked to throw out the first pitch at the Phillies' home opener.

Then, a month or so later, he was crushing gappers at Citizens Bank Park in batting practice.

Then he led an Eagles chant at the Kenny Chesney concert in Philly.

And now, according to Mike Triplette of ESPN, Pederson apparently smoked New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton at the coaches' annual golf outing at the NFL Owners' Meetings in March, winning New Orleans cuisine for his assistant coaching staff, and the right to wear their green jerseys in the Superdome for the Eagles' Week 11 matchup with the Saints in November.

The first was the jersey wager to determine which team would wear their traditional home colors during the Week 11 game in New Orleans. It ended after an intense three-hole carryover.

"There's a good chance it involved me being in the water," recalled Payton, who also lost a bet that required him to send a sampling of New Orleans food to the Eagles' coaching staff.

"Hey, if I'd have kept playing, he'd have been in our locker room," cracked Payton, who revealed the wager while on a conference call with Pederson and Arizona State coach Herm Edwards in advance of their appearance in the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe later this month.

In August, a book about Pederson will be released called "Fearless."

Remember when Mike Lombardi said Pederson was the least qualified coach in the history of the NFL? Seems like years ago, right? That was 10 months ago today.
