Three NFL games of importance to the Philadelphia Eagles during the early afternoon games did not go the Birds' way. The Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings all won Sunday afternoon, leaving Philly with more ground to make up for a playoff berth, as it remains in last place in the NFC East.

In division action, the Cowboys beat the Baltimore Ravens 27-17, while the Giants hung on against the Chicago Bears, 22-16. Here are the updated NFC East standings:

NFC East
 Cowboys
 Giants
 Redskins
 Eagles

In the Vikings' game against the Arizona Cardinals, the Vikings were able to stop a late drive by the Cardinals, hanging on for a 30-24 win. That is the Vikings' first win since Week 7, when the Eagles beat them at Lincoln Financial Field. The Eagles own the Vikings' first-round pick, so every Vikings loss has added importance for draft position. The Vikings are now 6-4 but still in second place in the NFC North, as the Detroit Lions were able to defeat a bad Jacksonville Jaguars team.
