Staying up until Midnight can be tough for kids (and parents), but no one wants to miss out on the fun of celebrating New Year's Eve.

Please Touch Museum, a children's museum in Fairmount Park, offers a solution. Families are invited to the Countdown 2 Noon on Monday, Dec. 31.

There will be a traditional New Year's Eve ball drop at noon and 1 p.m., so little ones can celebrate before nap time. The event also features a performance by a Mummers string band, confetti, storytime and arts & crafts.

The museum will open at 9 a.m. and close at 3 p.m. Tickets are $25 for kids and adults (museum members receive a discount).

For those who have never visited the Please Touch Museum before, there are two floors of interactive fun. Kids can ride the carousel, pretend grocery shop, imagine they're on a camping adventure, navigate a hedge maze and much more.

Currently, there's also a special exhibit featuring Thomas the Train.
