- Midwives, obstetricians, doulas, nurses, prenatal yoga teachers, hospital chaplains, ministers, therapists, pastoral care providers and anyone wanting training in best practices responding to pregnancy loss and stillbirth are invited to a workshop on Saturday, April 30.
Amy Wright Glenn, a regular contributor to PhillyVoice and a birth doula, prenatal yoga and wellness teacher trainer and hospital chaplain, will lead the workshop, titled "Holding Space for Pregnancy Loss."

During the event, which is hosted by the Philly Doula Co-op, participants will listen to firsthand accounts of pregnancy loss before diving into group discussion and reflection.
The sociological and cultural aspects of loss will be examined.Copies of Wright Glenn’s book, "Birth, Breath, and Death — Meditations on Motherhood, Chaplaincy, and Life as a Doula," will be also available for $10 to purchase.
The recommended registration for the class is $100. Fifty percent of registration fees will be donated to the Philadelphia-based Maternity Care Coalition.
