George Conway, who is married to senior counselor to the president Kellyanne Conway, is in the running for a top position at the Department of Justice, according to multiple reports.

George Conway, a Yale Law School graduate and a partner at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, is a front-runner to lead the department's civil division, Politico reported Friday.

Sources told Reuters that President Donald Trump is expected to nominate the New York lawyer, which would make him in charge of defending the Trump administration over legal matters, like the travel ban.

George Conway was formerly in the running for solicitor general.

Kellyanne Conway is a native of Atco, Camden County, and graduated from St. Joseph High School in Hammonton, Atlantic County. She and her husband lived in Alpine, Bergen County, before she joined the Trump administration.
