Miss N.J. accepts homecoming invitation from Pa. high school student undergoing cancer treatment

Miss New Jersey Lindsey Giannini has more than brains and beauty. She also has a big heart. 

According to the York Daily Record, which covers the York County, Pennsylvania, area, the 21-year-old Rowan University student has accepted an invitation from Northeastern High School senior Marcus Josey to attend a homecoming celebration.

In the spring, Josey, a two-sport student-athlete who is the quarterback of the Manchester, Pa., high school's football team, was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia, for which he is currently undergoing treatment.

The homecoming event is Oct. 17. 

Giannini, who competed for the title of Miss America in September, is also a champion against distracted driving, her pageant platform.
