Thursday, July 23, Ludwig Wicki will conduct a performance of the film's score, composed by Academy Award-winner Howard Shore. The Philadelphia Boys Choir and the Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia will both perform alongside the Orchestra.
That's right: Two full choirs and an orchestra are needed to bring life to the score of Peter Jackson's epic film, which will be displayed on the Mann Center's giant screen.
Here's hoping this is just the beginning of the Mann Center's Tolkien adaptation-themed events. There are six films, after all.
