Philadelphia police arrest 45 drug offenders

The citywide narcotic enforcement initiative also yields various drugs valued at $151,260

Philadelphia police arrested 45 drug offenders and seized varied narcotics valued at $151,260 during a four-day, citywide narcotic enforcement initiative earlier this week, the department announced Friday.

The Narcotics Field Unit seized 6,461 grams of marijuana, valued at $64,663; 2,068 grams of hydrocodone, valued at $36,690; 61.57 grams of heroin, valued at $20,462; and 190 Oxycotin pills, valued at $15,200. Police also seized cocaine, crack, Xanax, Percocet and other pills valued a combined $14,245.

Police also served 48 search warrants, recovered five firearms and one vehicle.

Police said the initiative, held Monday through Thursday, was sparked by multiple narcotics complaints from several city neighborhoods.
