Phillies prematurely fire off postgame fireworks during seventh inning of loss to Pirates

There were all kinds of foreign objects flying around Citizens Bank Park on Thursday night during the Phillies' loss to the Pirates

In the third inning, Andrew Knapp scored from first base on a throwing error thanks to the distraction caused by Andres Blanco's bat flying into the first base stands.

But in the top of the seventh inning, things took an even stranger turn when, out of no where and apropos of nothing, fireworks begin going off in centerfield. Apparently some of the explosives didn't want to wait until their scheduled release date at the end of the game.

No word on whether or not the delayed start time – rain caused a delay of nearly 50 minutes – but the rest of the fireworks stayed put until after the game, when the regularly scheduled fireworks extravaganza went off without any other apparent issues.
