Flyers

Oskar Lindblom, now cancer-free, could return to game action in September — if Flyers are still playing

The Flyers returned to action last weekend and picked up right where they left off when the NHL season was halted back in March, with a win. Carter Hart looked brilliant in the 4-1 victory over the Bruins — and will be getting the day off on Thursday when they play the Capitals — and the team got scoring from all over the place, with depth guys stepping up on what was a quiet day for the Flyers' top line.

What they're saying: Eagles 'likely' to miss playoffs, where their offense ranks, quarantining a QB

The big news of this week for Eagles fans, despite their team getting back out on the field at the NovaCare Complex, has been that their head coach is not out there with his players after testing positive for COVID-19 over the weekend. But that's the new normal in 2020 for the NFL, when at any moment your coach, your best player, or anyone around your team can vanish for weeks at a time.

Doug Pederson says he has no symptoms, will continue to coach Eagles virtually after positive COVID-19 result

Eagles' RB coach Duce Staley has big plans for Miles Sanders in 2020

Duce Staley knows what it's like to be a feature back in the NFL. He also knows what it's like to be part of a backfield-by-committee. During his decade as a running back in the NFL, Staley has been both, and knows the rigors, both physically and mentally, of both sides of that coin. It's part of what's made him successful as the Eagles' running backs coach, and it's why he's among the most qualified people to discuss the role of second-year running back Miles Sanders moving forward.

Eagles

What They're Saying: With Yannick Ngakoue holding out, could Eagles try for last-minute trade?

As baseball struggles to get its act together it seems strange to talk about any sports that aren't taking place in a bubble, as they seem destined for big issues trying to return during a pandemic, but the NFL is proceeding toward its season nonetheless. The Eagles returned to NovaCare this week for the start of training camp, but with the new protocols in place they've yet to hit the field for their first full-team workout.

Phillies won't play until at least Friday following COVID-19 exposure vs. Marlins

After three straight days with baseball back in our lives, it looks likes Phillies fans will have to wait at least another day for it to return again after positive COVID-19 tests for over a dozen Marlins players and coaches came back during the team's three-game set in Philadelphia.

What they're saying: Jamal Adams traded, LeSean McCoy still an option, Eagles' salary cap concerns

The Eagles will start training camp on time, after the NFL announced on Friday that they came to an agreement with the NFLPA over health and safety protocols amid the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as how the league will handle the financial implications of what will likely be a fan-less season around the country.
