The SEPTA Key's footprint continues to expand. It is now required for boarding at two SEPTA stations on the Norristown High Speed Line.
The NHSL, which travels throughout the western Philadelphia suburbs from 69th Street Transportation Center to the Norristown Transportation Center, will require a SEPTA Key card for passengers getting on the lightrail train at either of those terminal stations. Passengers are required to scan the pass or purchase a Quick Trip ticket at a station kiosk to get onboard.

The changes took effect on the first morning trains Monday, Jan. 7. This is an update to previous guidelines that required on-train payment with either a pass or exact change.
The 19 station stops between 69th Street and Norristown, however, will continue to accept cash as well as SEPTA passes and they have been and are not part of Monday's change. Passenger's fares are collected on the train.
The new policy is not 24/7, however. KYW reported that after 9 p.m. during the weekend, passengers will continue to purchase and pay for fares while on the train.
