Two Jersey Shore beach bars named among America's best

California. Florida. Hawaii. New Jersey?

A food and drink website included a pair of popular Jersey Shore hangouts on its recent list of the top 25 beach bars in the country.

The Rusty Nail, a Cape May mainstay since the 1970s, was praised for one particular cocktail and its signature firepit in a recent ranking by The Daily Meal. The site also singled out The Beach Bar in Asbury Park for its view overlooking the town's south beach and its live music.

The "laid-back" Rusty Nail has encouraged patrons to wear flip-flops all day and bring their four-legged friends, the site stated. The restaurant also offers The Hammer, a drink consisting of Gosling's and coconut rum mixed with passion fruit, pineapple and lemon juices. With the motto of "take the rest of the day off," The Hammer comes in a take-home, hollowed-out coconut, according to The Daily Meal.

Touting The Beach Bar for having the best view in Asbury Park, the ranking notes the restaurant's place in a storied local music scene.

The Beach Bar offers Sinatra nights, Uke & Drum events and other live music nights throughout the season, and its rum buckets are also a must, reviewers said.
