Almost every person at giant UDel party arrested for underage drinking

Authorities say they arrested nearly every attendee at a college party that got out of control near the University of Delaware campus Saturday afternoon.

Newark police said Monday they were observing the party at 302 East Park Place as part of a "controlled party dispersal operation."

Alcohol was being freely distributed to the guests despite many of them not appearing to be older than 21, police said.

Authorities executed a search warrant at the home at about 4 p.m. and ended up making 180 underage drinking arrests, including two juveniles.

One person was found unresponsive inside the house and taken to the emergency room, police said. That person was treated for alcohol overdose and released.

Charges are pending against the residents of the home, who have been identified as being affiliated with the unsanctioned fraternity APES, police said.

More details about this investigation will be released later this week, according to authorities.
