Mayor Kenney and DA Krasner to speak at event devoted to criminal justice reform

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney and District Attorney Larry Krasner will be at Chestnut Hill College tomorrow to speak at the Transforming Justice Conference, an event that seeks to improve the current state of the criminal justice system through engaged dialogue. Other speakers include State Reps. Chris Rabb, Joanna McClinton, Jordan Harris, and Mark Holden, general counsel for Koch Industries and liaison to the White House. The conference begins at 8:30 a.m. on campus at the Commonwealth Chateau at Sugarloaf and is free and open to anyone who has registered.

The conference will feature numerous speakers, a town hall discussion, and a panel focusing on poverty and race. Speakers will discuss topics such as the inequities in the criminal justice system, the barriers to reintegration, and the strategies for improvement. Other topics include health care, employment, and housing in reintegration; disruption and advocacy; and the future of criminal justice reform.
