The pop-up ice rink at Philadelphia’s Dilworth Park casts a warm glow on chilly winter days and nights. With convenient access to public transportation, a cozy warming tent and snacks by famed chef Jose Garces, even non-skaters can enjoy family-friendly, cold-weather fun.
The organization that brings Center City District Sips to the city each summer is bringing a wintertime version to the Rothman Institute Orthopaedics Cabin on Wednesdays.
The warming cabin, which sells food and drink, opens for the season on Nov. 11, and the first happy hour will take place on Nov. 16.

Attendees to the wintertime Sips edition will enjoy $5 cocktails from Jim Beam, $4 wine and $3 Sam Adams beers, along with specially priced food items from the Dilworth Park Air Grille, beginning at 5 p.m.
The happy-hour event will run through the end of February.
